World of Warcraft is a Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game (MMORPG) created by Blizzard Entertainment. It was released in November of 2004 to critical acclaim and has won numerous awards since its release. The game currently holds a record in the Guiness Book of World Records when it attained over 10 million concurrent subscribers in 2009. Currently, WoW has four expansions, with a fifth set for release in Fall 2014. Herein is a brief history of the game and its expansions. |
