On December 7, 2010, Blizzard released the third expansion to the Warcraft universe, simply called Cataclysm. However, nothing was simple about this expansion. Cataclysm led to a complete remake of the old continents, Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms, and led to radical political shifts throughout the universe. Notable additions to game play were the raising of the level cap to 85, the introduction of Goblins and Worgen as playable races, and many serious changes to raiding and equipment gathering. Players were treated to the leader of the Black Dragonflight, Deathwing, as the final epic encounter for the expansion.
