The second expansion, Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK), was released on November 13, 2008. This expansion added a new playable class, the Death Knight, and introduced the continent of Northrend to the world. Again, the level cap was raised by ten, this time capping characters at level 80. The much beloved raiding zone of Naxxramas made a reappearance (last seen in Vanilla Wow), with the final major confrontation in the form of the players defeating the Lich King, Arthas Menethil, a fan favorite among the universes' bad guys.
